News, inspiration and fashionable things to know–from the Beltway and beyond.

Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens has a glamorous new Cartier exhibition that opens this weekend.

…In related news, The National Museum of Women in the Arts also has an exhibition opening this weekend, of pioneering female artists working in film called Total Art: Contemporary Video. I went to the preview the other day and one of the films features actor Peter Dinklage as you’ve never seen him before–as one of the figures in Diego Velazquez’s Las Meninas, come to life. Not to be missed!

It’s fun when there are 15 different food trucks to chose from on your lunch break. How about the same idea but with fashion? On Saturday, hit up The Fashion Yards for a one-stop shop with the area’s fashion trucks, plus other food, clothing, and accessories vendors. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; info via Facebook here.

That night, check out the Geek Chic Fashion Show put on by Pollysue’s Vintage and Fantom Comics. It’s at St. Stephen & The Incarnation Church and admission is just $5. Info via Facebook here.
