Win it: Pair of Tickets to Junior League’s Tossed & Found
Friday, March 11, 2011

The Junior League’s Tossed & Found sale is coming up, and it’s something of a well-kept secret for scoring awesome previously-loved clothes, accessories, furniture (my friend Sarah of The District Domestic/Haute Papier got a gorgeous desk for her home office) and more, including tons of designer stuff. One lucky winner wins a pair of tickets to the Preview Night Friday March 25, which means FREE first dibs on all the best stuff.
To win, leave a comment with your ideas for transitioning into spring, or what you’re planning to buy or wear as the weather warms. I’m considering venturing into shorts territory – there are so many pretty, feminine options and I’m determined to find a pair or two that work – and/or skirts or pants in a pop of color like red or orange like these from Asos.
I’ll choose a winner on Wednesday. Good luck!

Count me in! I’m looking for a bright colored trench just in time for spring… think red, yellow, or orange.
fun! i’m searching for florals skirt?/cardi? to help me transition to the next season.
YEAH!!! What a great prize!!!!
I’m in the process of finding the perfect long skirt or maxi dress – something colorful, just in time for spring!
My spring transition will my boudoir as well as my body.
I plan to lavish my bed with some combination of sea/sky blues and yellows. I am also getting some plants. I’m thinking a pony ail palm.
For my face, I am on the hunt for a green shadow and a gloss with subtle coloring.
And for clothing…I had a vision of red heels. Like literally in my dreams it was sunny and I was wearing red heels. Still piecing that concept together.
I’ve truly been daydreaming about transitioning into spring 2011…since last spring! Spring in the beltway is magical. Nature is very inspiring and with the Cherry Blossoms around the corner, I am lusting over the latest fantastic green trench from asos that will provide a nice contrast as I stroll through the pink blossoms! As a ’70s baby, who was too young to don any of the garb of that era, I’m thrilled that fashion is swinging in that direction again ~ so, this spring will be about lots of color and swingy dresses. I just went through my closet and found an excellent purple mod cropped Prada jacket that will definitely get some wear this season, along with my long flowy dresses and belted pants. Oh spring! I can feel it already and can’t wait to show my appreciation through fashion!
I am intrigued by high waisted shorts…
I’m looking for patterned dresses and skirts and bright tops to liven up my wardrobe, which is pretty dark.
I’m waiting for the mercury to hit 70+ so that I can break out my “aloha wear,” lovely, colorful dresses and blouses by Hawaiian house Manuheali’i that are perky, yet in the least preppy way. Maybe on Wednesday I’ll get lucky!
Usually I’m a huge fan of black and neutrals, but this spring I’m excited about all the bright colors/color blocking! Pops of neon yellow, orange, blue, hot pick… so fun!
So excited about the giveaway!
For spring, I’m really liking a pink lip. Similar to the red lip in vogue for quite some time, I’m loving the intensity without venturing into the “hot pink” arena.
I am very into the Nautical look for Spring this year! I also am on a mission to find the PERFECT pair of shorts and some bright colored wedges to transition to warmer weather!
I’m also excited to be able to go out without my coat! Can’t wait for that day!
I’m excited about florals – nothing says spring like bright colors and flowers.

With warm weather approaching, I’m getting anxious to start wearing sexy sandals with shorts, dresses, skirts, etc… They look great with anything!
I want to buy the new coral colored shoes and belt from H&M! Hello spring!
I’m obsessed with wedges. I’m looking for the perfect pair(s) that can transition from work to happy hour. I’m also excited to try mixing textures for the spring! Silks, linens, cottons, etc. I think my biggest challenge will be accessorizing.
With the Kentucky Derby around the corner (not to mention the royal wedding), hats are catching my eye as I begin shopping for new spring clothing.
Spring weather is about as predictable as your kooky aunt’s behavior at Thanksgiving dinner after downing a few dirty martinis. I kind of cherish the challenge of picking an outfit that can stand up to the bipolar-esque weather of springtime. That said, transitioning into Spring this year means short jumpsuits and above-the-knee dresses paired with delicately detailed tights (think lace, pointelle, or crochet) and sturdy short vintage motorcycle boots , topped off with a structured lightweight corduroy or velvet blazer – and lest we not forget lots of long, layered necklaces and a few stacked bangles. Boo-yaaaa…hello, Spring!!!

I can’t wait to pick up a pair of gray flats!! I have no idea why it’s stuck in my head, but I think they’ll go with EVERYTHING this spring. I’d also go for a pair of soft gray patent peep toe pumps… then colors like tangerine and yellow and navy will pop
still totally into the sailor stripe…shh.
I’m a lover of golf and will wear golf outfits as many days as I can hit the courses. There are a number of golf courses in the Washington-Metro Area I plan to play this year and hope to find as much golf gear as possible at the “Tossed and Found” this weekend. Golf is not ‘cheap’ so I hope to find some bargains.
