This Week in Fashion

You’re back in town and wondering what’s up. Here’s a full serving of fashion this week, plus a few ideas to mark down on your calendar for next week. All calorie-free!

Here’s what’s on my radar for….

Handbag designer Tu-Anh, who has been doing the “fashion thing” in Washington for as long as I can remember, is teaming up with Goodwill and all of those delicious Asian-eateries-at-Eden-Center-you-always-read-about to host what sounds like an awesome day of shopping, eating, and culture (so many of my favorite things!). Go to shop a tightly edited selection of vintage and contemporary clothes, taste amazing food and buy an awesome flying pig statue (The Post wrote up the immigrant-entrepreneur story). Free with RSVP to; walk-ins are $10. Event details on Facebook here.

…And “Bourgeois and Proletariat,” and event that aims to “showcase fashionable formality and progressive art” through modeling, art and music:

And for the Bethesda ladies, a slew of deals along Bethesda Row:

Vintage store Treasury’s holiday party is Saturday, showcasing the meticulously crafted jewelry from Erin Considine. I admire and covet and each every piece. She’ll talk on her process (for instance, she uses natural dyes from tumeric, hibiscus, and blackberries!) while you listen to Embers and score deals on one-of-a-kind vintage.

Doing Merriment in Georgetown will be fun. Lots of families and wreaths and holiday cheer and hot cider and sales.

…If that actually sounds like your worst nightmare, why not cozy up to some free bubbly and a hot new set of lingerie at
Sylene’s Bras n’ Brunch event?

Now, for next week – save these dates…after the jump!

Nick Verreos

On Wednesday, December 9, Project Runway alum Nick Verreos takes the Corcoran stage. The appearance is co-sponsored by FIDM (where PR is now filmed) so expect a special viewing of Debut 2009, FIDM’s annual fashion show PLUS a wine meet n’ greet after the program and more. Adorably, Nick’s blogging about it and seems super-excited. Buy tix here.

On Friday, December 11, Project Beltway fave designer Allison Parris is holding an intimate trunk show for Fall/Winter 2009. There will be limited edition items, special pricing and of course, bubbly! RSVPs are appreciated, but not required. Don’t miss the chance to meet Allison and try on one of her amayyzing, eco-friendly pieces.
