On the Road Again.

Sorry things have been a little quiet here on the PB front. Random projects and going out of town have been keeping me busy, and on top of that, I have a cold, which means I'm feeling tired and fuzzy in the head. Right now I'm attempting to muster the energy to pack for my trip down to Lexington this weekend. My friend Ann and I are already planning a Friday night outing to Skatetown USA, the rollerskating rink where we threw ice cream birthday party celebrations when we were younger. There will be costumes involved...

A few things I thought I'd mention:

The event above. I worked for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) for three years, and they are an amazing group doing incredible work. Just check into their expense ratio and you'll see that any money donated to this charity is well spent. I will be at the event on Wednesday and I hope that all of you can make it, too.

My Sidewalk Style this week is here, and it addresses a style issue we've all had to deal with at some point or another - how to dress appropriately for the office but still look like yourself (not too old, not too boring). One thing I hated was having to spend money on clothes that weren't "fun." Her outfit is a study in office essentials: a neutral sheath dress is a smart investment, and while it's not essential, her matching bag and flats (no flip-flops here!) do make the look neat and chic. That cropped jacket will take her all the way into fall - she could layer it with a thin long-sleeved tee, a statement necklace and long leather gloves....my must-have fall item.

Lastly, I have to mention that I'm a ZIPS customer for life now. I had been looking for my cropped Moschino Cheap & Chic jacket for MONTHS (it was actually cheap and chic by the time I purchased it from Diva), and on a whim I called the drycleaner. Whaddayaknow, they had held onto $5 worth of clothes I'd dropped off in March. I'm sure it's not typical, but how great is that!?

OK, enough procrastinating. I'm going to bite the bullet and pack. Let's hope the weather clears...I will wear my (new?) vintage one-piece bathing suit before the season is over!
