My friend and fellow Washingtonian Best-Dressed-lister Ebong Eka is launching a line of men’s clothing, and there’s a benefit show on August 5. The idea is customized ready-to-wear. Ebong (awesome name) is a CPA full-time but has been designing off and on since around 2005. The line emphasizes suits in luxurious fabrics and Italian workmanship in addition to shirts and pants, all customized for fit and preference.

Which means they will FIT. No more (well, at least less) boxy, ill-fitting suits. yaaay!

Suits will range from $1000-$1500, shirts will be $200-$250, and pants will be $350.

I’m helping one of the models with his fit and walk this weekend. I have my opinions, as you might guess.

What exactly does “customized ready-to-wear” mean? Do he mean Made-to-Measure?

If he does mean MTM, those prices are outrageous.

And any suit can be made less “boxy” and “ill-fitting” by taking it to a tailor. No need to spend these sorts of dollars.
