Looks Good Enough to Wear, No?
Wednesday, July 16, 2008

This post has really nothing to do about clothing, fashion, or the local style scene. It’s purely to show off the gorgeous Blueberry Cheesecake I made the other night (I did wear an adorable 50s-style apron while making it though!). I served gazpacho for the first course, rack of lamb for the main meal, and the cake for dessert.
When I first thought about starting a blog, I thought first about writing something food-related (food and fashion…my two loves!). Food is such a wonderful topic – it’s all about creating something that you can share with the people you love. Those meals often turn into traditions or great stories. And how many people leave snarky, mean comments on food blogs?! The local food blogs Metrocurean, The District Domestic, and Counter Intelligence will satisfy your cravings if you’re also a foodie.
I have so many good memories related to food and growing up. My mom used to make pancakes for me and my sister shaped like Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I thought she was a total genius.

Ok that is a beautiful cake but also a gorgeous photo! it looks like it came right off the cover of Cooks!!
What a talented little thing you are (in an apron, no less)!
Cheesecake is one thing I will never make or eat– the calorie count is just not worth it! You’re lucky you’re so skinny if you eat that.
DON’T YOU EVER TALK LIKE THAT ABOUT CHEESECAKE AGAIN!!!!
Mmmmmm… Cheesecake. That looks amazing! Wow, reading those posts- I always thought cheesecake had zero calories:-) Well, I’ve believed my dessert faith for too long to stop now.
