Romper Room!
Tuesday, June 24, 2008

I’m in the current issue (June) of DC Magazine romping around in a romper!
What I’m wearing: silk Alexander Wang (pant, pant) romper, Alexander Wang razor-cut top, Julie Wolfe necklace, Jean-Michel Cazabat shoes, a Malababa clutch (it has big silver studs that you can’t see unfortunately) and some cool, very architectural Fallon bracelets.
I can’t say enough about how much fun I had doing this shoot, especially styling hair, the outfit and coming up with poses for the actual shoot. The attention and pampering didn’t hurt either: for once in what will probably be my entire life, I got to walk into Barneys Coop and pick out whatever I wanted (no, not to keep!), and I got my hair (Jacob) and makeup (Kari) done over at Erwin Gomez. Cheers to Jamie for shooting.
As we all know, rompers (or “combishorts” as a spread in French Glamour calls them) all the craze right now in fashion circles. But more than once, I’ve found myself explaining them thus: “you know, like, shorts and a top attached…kind of like babies wear…?”
Thanks to Cory and everyone over at the magazine for including me…you guys romp! er, rock!

Oh wow. wow you are gorgeous!!! And I never thought I’d like a romper so much! I looked at your page and saw the top picture and thought “wow that model looks EXACTLY like Rachel!! That must be why she put her picture up on here.”
but…wow. seriously there are no words. Except…maybe…”I’m going to the gym!!!”
Can I just say that you are looking Fierce! I seriously did a double take while flipping through the mag. Love love love the hair–I think you should wear it like that more often. Congrats girl!
What a babe you are!!! OMG!! I have always thought that you were gorgeous, but now – the secret’s out!!! I love you, sweetie!!!

Great pics! I want to get in the magazine too:)
F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S!
You blew that shoot out of the water!!!
I am a little wine drunk and I couldn’t resist:
in reference to the above comment…and that’s way better than blowing water out your shoot!!!
oooooooooooooh!
I’m truely sorry
rachel you look great! like some kind of fashion super-hero out there to vanquish visible panty lines, bad color combinations and ill-fitting pants. congratulations on the spread!
YES! I love rompers! I decided a little while ago that the romper is my new skinny jean…at least for DC summer. Good styling, btw. The layering is awesome.
You look like an angel.
great layering! very chic, realistic styling of a difficult piece. love the bracelets and necklace for balance, too
Hi, I just saw the coverage of your blog in DC Magazine and I had to check out your site. Cute! btw — I was in Crete and Athens this summer and the romper is definitely picking up interest. The scene there was still mixed with TIGHT leggings and loose tops but that was more in Chania than Athens. Anyway, cute site and congrats on the coverage.
Yeowza! America’s Next Top Model — look out!
I accidently stumbled onto your site- While the romper maybe picking up steam, please do all of us in the fashion world a favor and stop your photo shoots. The romper was designed for sleek and slender women…not fat cows such as yourself. And my God- please do something about those tree trunks you have for thighs. I have never seen such an amateur photo shoot in my life. Stay in D.C. and never venture up to NYC.
Wow, you look absolutely stunning! I especially love the necklace and the hair.
hope you kept that romper! you look amazing in it!
Jason,
And I hope you stay in New York with all of your skinny-thighed friends.
xoxoxoxox,
Rachel
so hot!
i ran out and got this issue right after i saw this posting…my only complaint is how small your pic is in the magazine
i love how you always seem to be so down to earth and realistic, even surrounded by vapid socialites in dresses that cost half a years worth of my rent…
i also love your response to jason… beautiful woman with beautiful curves, and classy to boot!
Jason, really do you think that much of yourself? Have fun burning out in your prime. Can you say “has-been”?
Doll, you are adorable.
