Ankle Cut-Out, U Street
Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Her feet were getting tons of admiring and curious glances from ladies passing her as she walked toward Creme for brunch this past Saturday.
Her shoes are Franco Sarto, her dress is Kensiegirl, and she bought her coat in Spain. She got her tights at a not-in-Washington boutique, but I bet you could score some like these wherever dancewear is sold….anyone seen ‘em around?

I have leggings like these and I love them!
I got them here:

I was with you until the stirrup pants. Those were hideous the first time around!
I like the entire outfit, with the exception of the tights. What’s the point? To put emphasis on her heel (which is not a particularly sexy or attractive part of a woman’s body)? It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
According to an issue of People last week, those kind of tights are so out for 2008. For whatever that’s worth.
Love those shoes! They tell the story-taste, sophistication and a touch of glam. Way to go!
I have tights like that from American Apparel. Although, I have to admit, I bought them by accident and I only where them with boots. But I don’t hate them or anything.
ummmmmm… ewwwwwwww… those shoes are horrible!! there’s nothing cute at all about that fat ol’ chunky heel.
no way you folks are talking me into “stirrup pants” again…nope…no matter what you call them or how cute she looks!!!!
xoxo
The coat…cute, the dress…cute, the stirrups with the slingbacks…not cute AT ALL. The shoes would be nice if the heel were closed in & not so “chunky”. This look is a miss from the waist down…
Gotta agree with the shoe/stirrup hate, but I’ll give her credit for trying something different and still managing to look cute while doing it. If I wore that getup it would be a disaster.
The coat is a beauty. The leggings are a throwback no-no, and I do like the shoes.
the stirrup thing was cool for a day, but only with the likes of jamie-lynn spears and miley cyrus. this lady looks ADORABLE except for that one flaw. plus, wouldn’t her toes be totally cold?
xoxo
Very ’60s: so reminiscent of female icons like UK models Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton, who came to the fore in that decade. Absolutely sublime! Delightful!
GREAT tights–saw them earlier in the week on two young Asian girls. Loved ‘em on them–Love them on this young lady! Think I’ll buy me a pair–LOL Oh–and I also LOVE the shoes. I think Nordstrom carries Franco Sarto, so I might have to go check em out. In response to Mama’s Got Moxie: I work at a leading luxury retailer, and you’re going to be seeing a LOT of “chunky” heels this spring. Its all about the stacked heel!
love her style and she has the perfect body to carry it all off.
So are you like done with this blog or what? I can’t decide if it’s worth checking anymore.
Great outfit, black and red is a killer combination when worn with tact. You have an awesome eye for style.
Any word on DC Fashion Week? Will you be covering it?
DC Fashion Week -
Yes, I do plan on checking it out!
Last time I stopped in, American Apparel had tights like this with cut-outs in lots of colors and at really good prices
Where are you come baaaacckkkk
No. No, no no no no.
your adoring fans miss you rachel ):
Jenn,
You appear to have such a well-rounded vocabulary! Your blog must be for the truly erudite
i think this whole outfit is adorable and the young woman whose wearing it. and to all your comments about not liking the stirup leggings, get ready because they are in and washington is alittle behind the times and way to conservative!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this girl should be a model and i think she could pull just about anything off. people should be more open minded about fashion, i think they say things because they themselves do not have the body or guts to be creative.
I like the look. Of course, with those legs you could wear almost anything!
