The first flier for On Lokation needs no introduction or explanation: unique and gorgeous clothing and accessories tucked into an airy, well-decorated, gotta-know-where-it-is space overlooking the intersection of 14th & U Streets.

The shindig over at Sherman Pickey is in support of an annual powder puff football fundraiser called Blondes vs. Brunettes for the National Capital Area chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The game is November 10 at a TDB locale, but the women have already been kicking ass off the field: they’ve raised more than $38,000 already. Drop by Sherman Pickey to meet some hot girl footballers (and maybe some male coaches…!?) and shop for pretty clothes (yes, they have a LOT more than whale-embroidered pants). Expect wine, munchies and a percentage of sales to benefit the cause or just donate here. Go Team Brunette!

Also in the shopping for charity department, Caramel is having a trunk show event from 5-9 for As If Bags. “As If” stands for Asberger’s In the Family, a cause important to the three women behind the brand; they donate a chunk of proceeds from the bags to causes that support Asberger’s research & awareness.

And clearly there are breast cancer events going on, since it’s now impossible to buy yogurt, shop at Safeway or do pretty much anything without supporting all things pink. Urban Chic pretty much sums this up with the title for their sale on October 25, Pink is the New Black. Rock some black and pink and join them from 6-9 p.m. that day to receive 20 percent off, 5 percent of which will support the Komen National Race for the Cure. If you can’t make it into the store, the same deal can be found at their online boutique (use the code “Komen.”

Old Town consignment haven Diva is celebrating its two-year anniversary this weekend, kicking off Friday night with live music from Tommy & The Bahamas and special deals all weekend, including 50% off sale items and a chance to win a gift package. Ten percent of their sales will benefit breast cancer research.

Finally, Saks’ Key to the Cure weekend is October 18 – 21, which means that the behemoth chain has made a $1 million fundraising commitment to local and national women’s cancer charities.
