Emmys: The Good, the Bad.

A winner in more ways than one: Katherine Heigl in an incredible Zac Posen white denim gown.
Posting about the style of the Emmys certainly has nothing to do with Washington, but we DO all have televisions, do we not? Well, I have a television, but it currently only has one channel, and it is NBC, and it is fuzzy. Needless to say, I did not watch the Emmys (or rather, the red carpet strut, since I care very little about the actual awards). Some might call the Emmys far less important fashion-wise than the Oscars, but stars certainly seem to be turning up the style quotient for the event, to varying degress of success.
Heigl was my hands-down favorite of the night’s offerings. The white was young and fresh while the cut, hair, makeup and jewels kept things utterly classic.
This post is a rare moment of pure do-and-don’t fashion dictatorness. Because well, I’ll likely never run into these folks on the street or at a party. There are plenty here that I missed…anyone have a strong opinion on who looked best/worst?
I Liiiiiiike:
Ali Larter in Reem Acra: House’s Lisa Edelstein also wore head-to-toe red.

Sarah Chalke in Monique Lhuillier (though I usually prefer bold on the red carpet, it is a lovely dress):

Minnie Driver in Donna Karan:

And now, the bad. There was actually a good amount of bad, if you ask me:
Jenna Fischer in bad bow display #1…..

Christina Aguilera in Valentino, our bad bow display #2. This might be overlooked if she was/admitted to being pregnant. But really, is it any excuse? Does this mean that Jenna Fischer is pregnant?

Kyra Sedgwick in Oscar de la Renta: I get that, in choosing this dress she was trying to build some curves, but it fell a bit flat. She needed some lipstick (so did Rachel Griffiths). She needed some nail polish. She needed to let someone like Dita Von Teese rock it properly.
Joely Richardson: ……just….too much.

Just some random thoughts, good and bad:
WHAT is up with this bag?!…Matching your arm-candy…A not-so-desperate housewife in a fantastic color….a cool skinny tie…Another look at Katherine Heigl.
