They have rodeos and pig races, all in close proximity to a NASCAR track [a NASCAR track!] What more could you ask for in a fair? I'm most intrigued by the "Black Tie & Boots" event, where they implore you to boogie in the barn. Being at a native Virginian, I'd say this fair is much more supremely awesomer than the one on Maryland. There’s still the Virginia State Fair, about 2 hours south in Richmond. I was quite suspicious of the pumpkin flavored kind, but it was surprisigly tasty. The Maryland state fair starts next week. It doesn't have a butter cow, so it can't really compare, but if you're in the mood for fried everything and a good barrel race, it's not too far from DC. :) There’s a Graeter’s in Westerville close to where my fiance lives.
