Project Beltway

Project Beltway

Corcoran students with a talented tattoo artist friend–both of their tattoos were “works in progress,” which is interesting because it’s something you just don’t see much of. I kind of like the way their tattoos look just like this, kind of stripped down.

Hers in the style of Sailor Jerry (I check out the site once in a while and I’m currently digging this).

    yikes!!!!

Agreed. Tattoos are now SO commonplace as to not even veer anywhere NEAR edgy or subversive any longer. These two are MAINSTREAM, doubly underscored by the number of tattoos. What’s next for these two — popped collars?

    Dear Rachel,

Did you intend to capture the Bruce Willis “Life Free Or Die Hard” film poster in the background?

That’s what you call ironic poetic license commentary on this smoke-free couple. :)

to JM popped collars my ass!

Reading these comments makes me laugh. JM, i don’t know who you are or what you look like, but I’m pretty sure i would think you were absolutely ridiculous. To be quite honest we like the way we look. We aren’t trying to be “mainstream” or “edgy”. I think its funny that you think that of us. I’m also willing to bet you wouldn’t say that to our faces if you saw us on the street because I’m pretty sure I’d kick your ass. HA!

    -have a good day sir.

TIFFANY you look stunning as always!-
and if i ever see you with a ‘popped’ collar i will have to personally kick your ass hah

    FUUUUCK that guy!
i love both of you very much.

  9. CGee June 28, 2007 11:16 pm

While I like their look (except for the blue nike shoes on him – blech), maybe what JM means is that there is nothing unique to their style, as it is seen pretty regularly on the streets these days, just the same as Ann Taylor outfits.

  10. weezer June 29, 2007 12:02 am

well if thats your reasoning then i suppose nothing is really unique anymore…

  11. JM June 29, 2007 9:00 am

Well, it seems like we hit a nerve…

You’re right about one thing — I wouldn’t say anything to your face — live
and let live, I say. From the awful seersucker suits of some days back to
the space-age Sunday hats some women wear. (WTF?)

But this is a DC STYLE BLOG with a COMMENT THREAD, and living in Logan
Circle, I see this look every day. So, it seems like a fair comment to me
with the pics posted here to say — remove the tattoos from this picture and
this look could be in any mall across the country — add the tattoos and
    the possibility’s risen ten-fold.

And, uh “kick my ass?” Riight. Meetcha in the Food Court at noon!

I understand its a comment blog, but i think its funny that you take potshots at people on blog sites and not to their face. No matter, i run into people like you everyday. Let’s just agree to disagree.

That’s going to look hot when they are 40 years old.

  14. tiffany July 1, 2007 4:40 am

hah wow. every time i go on here i see more and more haters. yeah, it will look hot when we are 40 years old ur just too much of a pussy to ever get a tattoo so go fuck yourself and grow some balls, and do something for me, the next time you see someone with lots of tattoos say something like tha to their face…. then see what happens to your face. ha. loser.

  15. md July 1, 2007 1:02 pm

Wow. Tiffani, you must be a blast at happy hour. Well atleast you have the klass, name, and diction to match your look. Your parents must be so proud and you’re right, tats and cigs make you tough. We should just send you to iraq to scare away the terrorists with your badass look. Seek anger management assistance.

  16. tiffany July 1, 2007 2:57 pm

dumb ass. learn how to fucking spell. go finish high school before you take low blow shots at people you dont even know.

  17. Johanna July 1, 2007 6:25 pm

I like the pistol necklace and the Die Hard poster.

And she’s got perfect legs for skinny jeans. Lucky brat.

  18. MD July 2, 2007 10:58 am

Did I mention intelligence? Add that to the mix of qualities this little gem has to offer. Obviously, the spelling errors were on purpose, Akeelah. The victim card doesn’t work so well when you have written violent and angry responses to people on a public forum…so try another route to evoke sympathy.

I won’t waste any more of my wit on you- good luck with your life and your “work in progress.”

This isn’t a blog about grammar (I hope). I really, really dig the tatts. Regardless of if ink is “trendy” now or not, they both have great artwork.

those are actually really nice tattoos, and they’re going to be even more gorgeous once they’re done. and no, i don’t have any myself, nor would i want to–but i can appreciate beauty when i see it.

that said, i onced saw a new yorker (i think) cartoon that said all tattoos, no matter what, say the same thing: “ask me about my parents’ divorce.”
