Move over, Kate!
Everyone, from the pups to the dudes, looked well-groomed and well-dressed at The Washington Humane Society’s Fashion for Paws fundraiser at the French Embassy on Saturday night. The event featured forty of Washington’s “most celebrated and well-known personalities”–and a whole lotta cute dogs–in a fashion show to benefit the Humane Society’s Good Home Guarantee, a five-year plan that promises to find a home for every adoptable dog and cat that enters the shelter by 2010. The title of “Model Washingtonian of the Year,” was awarded to one male (Justin Magazine) and one female (Jennifer Cheadle) for raising the most moolah.
Participants included MTV’s Paul Wharton, EarthEcho Co-Founder (& grandson of Jacques) Phillipe Cousteau, restaurateurs Ellen & Todd Gray, and yes!–Project Runway’s Wendy Pepper.
Even though I heard that there were a few “model” accidents backstage, the show was fun, loud, and full of energy–no doubt aided by the free-flowing Moet and thumping music…which, err, could have been a little less loud & clubby after the show (Smack That blaring at full volume in the beverage tent). For women–both on and offstage–dresses were de rigeur, while the men stuck to suits and silk ties and pocket squares. The models presented everything from swimwear to bridal from sponsors including Sherman Pickey, Wink, Hermes, Ralph Lauren, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
A lot more….

Fewer people, more pups!
The show was HOT, even if the music was a little loud. But who cares the bar was flowin’ and the place turned into a hot club after the show.
