The bags have been featured in Daily Candy, Washington DC STYLE, and Washington Life, but Project Beltway is the first to offer you the exclusive look at the new Spring line.

Hint: these bags claim to not only make you look good, but feel better too.

Didn’t buy an advance ticket? Some on-site tickets may still be available at the door for $50. Chinese New Year Celebration: The Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Last night I attended DC Magazine’s Chinese New Year party at The Mandarin Oriental. The crowd (a bit more interested in networking than in Chinese culture) enjoyed delicious food stations, free-flowing wine, and the opportunity to scope one another out.

On the Street: King Street

Stopping people on the street and asking for their picture is an interesting thing. Some people act as if it’s the most natural thing in th world, others are totally skeptical, some are excited and flattered. Her reaction was the best though: “As long as it’s not for porn.”

I’m still not completely sure why she was carrying an open bag of marshmallows.

She seemed like a fun girl, and her playful look reflected it: funky plaids and pigtails. Sometimes Washington is just too serious…you have to lighten it up!

Start your Spring cleaning tonight, ladies…you’ll need those empty hangers to justify blowing some cash at the District Sample Sale on Wednesday!
What to expect: A Soho-style sample sale involving more than 20 local boutiques, offering major discounts on items ranging from Botkier bags & designer jeans to local designer Allison Brooks’ jewels. Look out for a gaggle of DC doyennes and Capitol File cameras.
Why: Cocktails, couture, and charity: the words at the tip of every fashionista’s tongue. The fashion fundraiser benefits SOME Place for Kids.
How: Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased here. These advance tickets are only available until 10:00 PM tonight.
Swag: Bring a SOME Birthday Present and get a goodie bag, while supplies last. The founder of SOME personally makes sure that each child in the program gets a birthday present, even if he has to buy it himself. See the suggestion list here.

And gentlemen, the event has a lil’ something for you too. The Sugar Shack After-Party at Blue Gin is where you come in.
